By car to Upper High Street Car Park. Free short term parking. CAB is at the north end of the car park (end nearest Town Centre), opposite HSBC bank.

280 bus to Town Hall then 3 minute walk to Market House. Follow street signposts or ask for directions in Town Hall.

    The CAB Service is increasingly taking advantage of developments in IT. As an IT support volunteer you may be involved in a variety of areas, depending on your skills.

    Because every CAB is a registered charity, each has its own board of trustees. Some trustee roles require specific skills, but bureaux welcome people of all ages, backgrounds and experience to their trustee boards.

  • PR & Marketing Co-ordinators

    Each CAB needs to raise its profile in the local community to attract funding, recruit volunteers, to promote CAB campaigns and to ensure that potential clients know how to access our services.

  • Gateway Assessors

    Gateway Assessors are a client’s first point of contact, after the receptionist. They carry out the initial diagnosis of a client’s enquiry, identifying the ‘next steps’.

    The purpose of the role is to greet clients as they enter the bureau and make them feel welcome and to manage the reception area
